This Nanoblock Five Storied Pagoda kit recreates a classic Japanese Buddhist tower, complete with tiered roofs and a glowing spire. Five-storied pagodas, or gojunoto, were traditionally built to enshrine sacred relics and symbolize Buddhist cosmology, with each level often associated with an element such as earth, water, fire, wind, and sky. Their flexible central pillar design also made many historic pagodas remarkably resistant to earthquakes. The finished model captures the elegant vertical rhythm and temple-ground atmosphere of these iconic structures.
