Kaminarimon Deluxe Edition NBM-058 - Kawada Deluxe Editions The Kaminarimon Gate, or "Thunder Gate," is the large, iconic outer entrance to Senso-ji Temple in Tokyo's Asakusa district, known for its enormous red lantern and statues of the wind and thunder gods. Although its history stretches back to the 10th century, the current gate was rebuilt in 1960 with a significant donation from Konosuke Matsushita, the founder of Panasonic. The model features the large central red lantern (stickers included), a rickshaw sits at the forecourt and the distinctive multi angled roof is accurately depicted.
